Lincoln's field about the same time (1910)
 I would bet Wichita's field looked like that because they allowed cars to drive across it and park in the outfield. Cars parked along the fence in Lincoln

Dan you are correct about the car thing. I have a picture of a hot air balloon race and this rodeo that took place. Who knows what else they did there. These were the arenas of the day so I imagine quite a bit of other things went on.

We have two Wichita collectors here???
That's a great photo....everyone dressed in white. Some of the gals look like they might be in nurse uniforms, but I also see men dressed all in white in the photo.
