This case will not be brought with federal charges. After Chan made restitution it just didn't warrant federal charges. That's not my opinion that is the authorities opinion. This will have to be done at the local police level if anyone wants to go there. Charges would probably (correct me lawyers if I am wrong) need to be brought by someone he scammed. I don't know the law well enough but the first step would be to get a hold of local authorities ( I guess where the scammer lives or the plaintiffs live) and see if they want to go with it. Personally I think he should get more than an informal warning with no legal action. regards

edited to add- I am in no way speaking for any agency or anyone but me. When I said above it's the authorities opinion I should have said it's actually my opinion of how they might view the situation.

Leon ... having seen this movie before.
Having played a part in the movie.
Having been disappointed by some of the cast members in the movie.
After all that has transpired in this one.
After all the people involved, and that includes an auction house.
I'll watch and see how this one is handled, if at all? ... if not?
The Chan's of the world will see it as an Open Door Community, and declare an Open Season on same ... History will repeat itself!

I don't understand the Fed's on this. He has sold a few of these or traded for expensive stuff and gets caught. Probably $100K + here. So he pays back 1 victom and walks freely. Maybe it is just me but shouldn't the Fed's go to the local authorities if it is too small for them?? Just walking away makes absolutely no logical sense to me at all.

It is telling me that it is ok for me to scam people, just have the money ready if I get caught to pay back.

Absolutely NO risk for tons of gain here.

I can see them not messing with it cause it is too small for them and understandably but to knowingly let it slide just amazes me.

I am probably missing something or missed reading a post on 1 of the several pages (I hate the multiple pages in a thread) but I just can't believe what I am seeing happen here, nothing.

I am with you Leon, he deserves to be punished. Too much effort and premeditation involved.

I think one of the criteria to bring charges (and I guess this would be the Prosecutor) would be if restitution has been made or not. My understanding is that, right now, no one is out any hard money (not counting time and any small minimal expense).....If you know something different please enlighten me/us. Now my view on the Chan deal is that he should get some form of legal action.....and any of us could try to get that done, I guess.....at least on a local, state? level. I am with you in thoughts.....

I agree Dan.
Here is one more thought-if Chan made a stamp or what ever he used to reproduce the Sweet Cap bar and used it to make the most rare back there is. What if he also made a Broad Leaf 460 stamp, skins a T206 and puts the BL 460 stamp on it.
Possible right!
He could be making Drum, Uzits BL 460s. He obviously took time to fake the bar Old Mills -How much time has he spent trying to make other creations?
