Maud certainly looks much younger in the first pose. I don't think it's a stretch to say late 19th Century for the first photo. Other potential tip-offs (besides the obvious difference in her appearance and high collar) might be the lack of a glove in the first pose, as well as her tightly corseted waist. I am not sure exactly when corsets had their heyday, but I can't imagine them being condusive to playing baseball... ouch!
