Well we missed 1892 back there...

1889

This was the 2nd time Harpers Weekly had a baseball image on its cover.

Here's the November 9, 1889 first page, showing William Ewing, Captain of the New York Base-Ball Club. 9 1/2" x 12"...

Harpers Weekly. The Chicago Base-Ball Club, October 17, 1885. 5 1/2" x 9 1/2", includes Anson, Kelly, Clarkson, Williamson, and Billy Sunday.
