Somehow I suspect if Matt Cassel can be a successful NFL QB, Stafford can as well (as for QBs with great pedigrees, how is Matt Leinhart doing thus far?).
All that being said, if I were the Lion's GM I wouldn't want the first pick in this year's draft and have to pay all that guaranteed money to an unproven QB.
