I've been collecting golf cards for about 10 years and I think I have owned(at one time or another) almost every card I have wanted with only two exceptions: the 1932 Abdulla Bobby Jones and the 1928(?or 27) Crescent Confectionary Bobby Jones. I have seen and bid on the Abdulla, just never wanted to pay up for it, but have never even seen a Crescent Confectionary Jones. Lew L. and I have spoken about this card and he has said he has seen a picture of the Crescent, but never owned one. This is my "Holy Grail", what is yours? |

I have owned an Abdulla Jones, I will post a photo here later...needless to say a difficult card. I have owned 2 of them actually, but sold the other as part of the complete set some time ago. |

First of all, I like the new forum. Nice break from the vintage bb cards stuff. Anyhow, does anyone know if there are cards of Walter Travis? What little digging that I've done has been inconclusive, at best. Thanks |

There always seems to be a lack of golf cards for anyone to buy, that is way it can be challenging - I know the cards are out there. The last two years I have been buying and selling and I always come across a few here and there. The challenge is what keeps me going with golf cards, and I love the history. |

I agree with Jimmy... vintage golf cards seem difficult to come by. |

Thanks for your interest, yes I look on eBay all the time and attend shows. There just are not a lot of cards out there. I have more luck with antique dealers more than anyone else. I will continue to work at getting more on my website at www.jbsportsauctions.com - having a website and selling at shows and ebay is the only way I can pay for items I would like to have. |

I am a long time researcher, collector, and archivist of Jewish sports memorabilia, but am interested in collecting cards/memorabilia of Jewish golfers: |

paper dealers sell advertising pieces, postcards, books, trade cards and sometimes non-sports cards. There are just as many postcard shows as sports cards shows. I just came back from a trip and purchased some nice items |

One way to find some older tobacco/tea cards of golfers and/or soccer players is to go to www.ebay.co.uk and look under Collectables -> Cigarette/ Tea/ Gum Cards. |
