I agree with you, Richard. Clearly, there are far more '48 Bowmans and '49 Leafs than '48 Signal Oil cards. I have done dozens of eBay searches for the Signal Oil cards and I'm lucky if a couple cards from '48 show up. The '47s, which I don't collect and don't really like, seem more common, yet demand higher prices. Most of the time, there aren't any '48s. But for some reason they've never really caught on. I recall going to card shows back in the 70s. It was much easier to find 1952-53 Mothers Cookies back then. Now they go for twice what Signal Oil cards goes for ... |
