A little history on the variation. I've owned a Clyde Milan for a number of years with the brown back. Everyone on the board dismissed it as faded black ink. I brought it with me to the Chicago National in 2005. After showing the card to number of people, including Dave Foreman and the head grader from SGC, they agreed it was a variation and slabbed it as such. Other than the ones Scott mentioned, the only other one I know of is a Walter Johnson. |
