Unfortunately, pitching wins world series in my opinion and I think the Tigers are weak there. Dontrelle might have a little bump this year but not enough. Rogers is chronically hurt. Verlander has the potential of being hurt ala Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. Their bullpen is not what it used to as well, their middle relief is suspect (although, I think it will be better than last year). Let us not forget that Renteria, Sheffield, Pudge, and Polanco are aging and apt to be hurt. There are no sure things in baseball (I remember this exact discussion on the Cubs a few years ago...Wood, Prior, Rameriez, Soriano, Lee, etc.).

I think Detroit will make the playoffs but not sure they will overcome a team with dominant pitching (if the BoSox sign Santana, watch out!).
