Why don't more people use reserves on eBay?

Well, in effect, that's what I do. eBay offers sellers to automatically reject any ridiculously low offers according to your wishes. I employ this feature, but eBay still shows you the automatically rejected offers. I just don't understand why people out there would even be bothered with some of their ludicrous bids. Somebody once offered me $5 for a Babe Ruth signed photo!
