Mark- it is actually difficult to get an appointment, and there is no guarantee you will get one. You must demonstrate that you are doing some serious research and need access to the material. They are hesitant to let anyone who wants to see some neat photos come in and take up their time. They used to be lax but they are now much stricter. I would call them and feel them out.
