Fair enough point. It just never ceases to amaze me how many collectors regard the number on the slab as an end to itself, completely disregarding the extraordinary subjectivity that goes into assigning a grade, and the fact that one person's 5 could be another person's 6, and vice versa. Not to mention too the subjectivity of the determination of what card attributes to take into account and what to ignore (e.g., the complete disregard of photo contrast in grading OJs). |
