IMO,

The penalty involved in "complete set" sales comes from the collector side. As a collector, the joy comes from the chase. When you buy complete sets, there is no CHASE therefore less joy.

I would expect this particular auction would garner the interest of a dealer/investor looking to flip the cards individually vs a genuine collector trying to complete the monster.
