Default Jim Crandell - Can you start this?

Posted By: 1880nonsports

that while a little of this give and take is tolarable - starting a thread to bait someone seems weak. Probably better ways to express it. I imagine this was precipitated by the 380 and rising Kevin post. I am in no way singling you out as the only person to get embroiled in what is more a personality issue than anything else. Jim's views and the views of the more vocal "playahs" have been expressed by not only themselves but many others with the endless CUTTING AND PASTING - rehashing old issues - whatever. The attack and defend strategy - constant back and forth allusions and implications of whatever prior acts - people suddenly coming out and posting with sides chosen regardless of the issue or thread intent - and a litany of non-responsive or self-serving dialog follows that tends to dominate many threads - moreso lately but I am mostly new here and often mearly a lurker. I suppose I am in some way contributing to the problem by responding on any thread that has little to do with cards or related issues. I am going to try and not comment in the future on issues that don't pertain to the board's criteria (explained in the rules section).

Woven in each thread are people who are honestly doing their best to respond to the question and/or redirect the thread on track.

Other than baseball cards - the occasional OT or late night induced stream of C.... I wish people would refrain from this crap the majority of the time. Really. I like to look at many threads and it gets old quickly. I could look away but in general I was interested in the topic to begin with = and might miss something Important offered by people that just want to keep things going as intended. It was my nickle. Let me repeat that this is not an attack on any one individual - rather it is directed at the collective responsible whole (er ah holes.....?).

(edited to add only the following - I appreciate the non-investment side of the hobby as well as an albeit hopeful expectation that my things will at least hold their value - enabling me to procure items I otherwise couldn't afford. I do not ask others to accept it for themselves - nor do in any way expect them to justify their reasons. Most often a collector will LYK where their interest/love/passion comes from. I apllaud the NS side box idea. I really only collect the earliest issues - but it's a fun way to go and harkens to an earlier and simpler time. While I would doubt the viabilty of such a project here due to the logistics in such a large population -(+ there would be a lot of arguing coming down to the smallest of details that would end up unrailing the whole project anyway - maybe people would want to talk about such thing. I think this simple "sharing" kind of idea and the "spirit" it might engender in some - is now lost because the issue has been obfuscated by the personalization......)
