As I look at the Boston Wafer container it reminds me of another candy from the same town in Cambridge, MA...the NECCO company (New England Candy COmpany) still makes candy there and are now known mostly for the little conversation hearts put out during Valentine's Day but still make Necco Wafers. I wonder if this Boston Wafer was in competition with NECCO which I think has been around for a long time or whether it was a precurser? Just some thoughts. |
