Could be registry guys expanding. If you want to make the PSA HOF, you have to have sets across the board, not just t206s, Goudeys, etc. so these guys with egos are gonna start chasing less mainstream sets to try and increase their chances for the PSA HOF. If you can't have the best t206 and 33 Goudey sets, then a bunch of top ranked obscure sets will make you look better.
