Nothing that I have sold, but I wish I could have my brothers baseball cards that our mother threw out long ago. I doubt it was anything spectacular 56-62, but because it was owned by family it would be nice ot have.

Lots of regrets, I guess, but since the sale of the cards helped me acquire other cards which I still have, I have gotten over it.

When I was a newbie to this board I traded my T206 Pink Hal Chase that was miscut to another board member for a beat up Harry McIntyre P2 Pin. Sure wish I could take that trade back.

That card is from the 1925 Holland Creameries or "Holland World's Champions" set depicting the Senators team that won the 1924 World Series. They were issued in Winnipeg, apparently in very small quantities. I've owned two of them (Zahniser and Ogden) but have sold both to board members.

I've been doing this long enough that I could regret every card I ever sold (although I really don't), but I guess my T206 Wagner that is currently in a PSA 1 holder and I sold in 1987 for 18K would be near the top of the list.

Quan- fair enough, the Wagner would be number one. But I was selling vintage cards in the 1980's. Don't you think I'd like them all back? They've probably increased 20x since then!

....everytime I consider selling 80% of my T206 set in April in order to buy Lionel Carter's Eddie Plank card. But I don't regret that move. Every time I start to miss them, I remember that I kept the cream of the crop in that 20% -- and that I'm very very happy to own an Eddie Plank.

But even before I sold that 80%, I had a PSA 6 Pink Port Hal Chase a few years ago that I sold because SGC wouldn't cross it as a result of a corner wrinkle that I didn't notice until they pointed it out to me. I guess I miss the PSA 6 Chase I had before I knew the wrinkle was there.

Ditto on letting a 1914 Cracker Jack card get away.
Mine was a Ty Cobb in Ex condition. It was especially clean for a 1914 CJ too. Not especially rare, but it had a special place in my collection. But sometimes life requires you to make choices between the things you like and the things you love. Only history will tell if you chose correctly.

I'm pretty much like you. I've been lucky in that I've never had to trade or sell a card I really wanted. Also, I try to never give up anything really rare. I once traded a '53 Topps Satchel Paige that had pencil marks in the background for a '58 Ted Williams in excellent condition. I also threw in some money.

Although that was my only '53 Topps Satchel Paige, I knew that it was not rare in that condition and that I could find another in any of the big shows that took place in the Bay Area. However, what I would really like to find is a '53 Topps Satchel Paige in Nrmt. condition. Sometimes condition makes all the difference in the world.

I suppose if I missed any card, it would be an autographed '57 Topps Willie Mays card I had about 20 years ago.

In my case, it's actually two cards. I found a couple 1887 Scrapps, a Sam Thompson and a Deacon White, in an antique store in Santa Ana, CA in the early 70s. I was 12 or 13 at the time. I remember paying $3.50 for the Thompson and $2.50 for the White. Shortly afterwards, I sold the pair to Goodwin Goldfadden for about $50 ...

About 1967-68, when I was in my early teens, I spent a summer sorting cards for Goodwin Goldfaden, of ADCO fame (I'm sure some of you know his name.) He'd taken a liking to me when my mom would drive me over the hill to his old store on what was then called "Little" Santa Monica Blvd. Anyway, he then moved, his residence, a five minute bike ride from me in Sherman Oaks (I'm back east now.)

So all summer long for very little money -- and I would have done that for free -- I'm sifting through piles of mostly post-war that he'd dump on his kitchen table. When I finished a pile he'd come back from his garage and dump more on me. A kid's paradise! Mostly commons but some good name players, future HOFers, etc. most of whom I already had. Except when I all of a sudden found myself staring at my then holy grail 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311. Of course I can't afford it, I think it went for about $35! Could have cost more but not much more back then. Well...I stuck it in my pocket (forgive me, it's hard enough to admit.) Later, shortly before I left, I put it back on the table on top of the stack of other name players. You know, just not my style. So, it was mine for a few hours. I never did end up owning one.

Edited to say: I don't actually wish I had it back under those conditions...just wish I'd bought one at some point back then.
