The Hornsby pin refers to "Highest Percentage Batter since 1900" whereas the Grove pin simply says "Pitcher" with an earned run average, clearly not the all time record. Since Grove's number is a league leader but by no means historically important, I'd think the pins were issued, as stated above, about the time of the stated Grove's ERA leading season. |
