In 1984, I traded a 1984 Topps Craig Nettles for an unknown rookie - Mattingly. I agreed to do the deal with my friend, but I had the Nettles card at home. That night, I accidentally sat on the Nettles card, and killed the card. My friend was no longer interested in completing the trade for a creased Nettles. Even then, us 12 year olds cared about the condition of a card (this was before the go-go years of the late 80s).
