I know of a board member that had a 20k package left on his doorstep during a storm, about a year ago, from Fedex. It blew away never to be seen again. It also had some very irreplacable cards in it. Fedex told him that they had an "implied" consent since they had done it before. My understanding is that Fedex is supposed to have a signed waiver on file in order to just leave boxes. The auction house that sent the cards eventually had their insurance pay for it. It was a major issue .....If I were you I would speak with Fedex and make positive you have on file that you will not accept this kind of situation and sign something saying you wont. Keep all records of this of course....good luck..
