Actually, the Ogdens were a series of sets put out between the late 1890s and 1902 in both the UK and Australia. I know about the set via the boxing cards, some of which are readily available and others of which are very rare. Anyone who searches Ebay under Ogdens will see the vast array of different topics covered in the sets. Virtually every sport but baeball is featured, as are politicians, ships, pets, freaks and implements of torture(something for all tastes). The common cards go for about $1 each while the scarcer ones can sell for over $1000. |
