Default 1949 Leaf question??

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis

Griffins

Your observation that the Kent "Red Cap" Peterson is equivalent to the Cliff
Aberson (short-sleeve) in scarcity is pretty accurate. Both these variations
were printed in later press runs of the 1st Series of 49 cards.

My Leaf collection from my youth (over 100 cards) contained the "black cap"
Petersons and the "long-sleeve" Abersons. These cards had to be from the
very 1st press runs as they were available very early in the Spring of '49.
Just before the Baseball season started.

Leaf changed the color of Peterson's cap to be consistent with all the other
Reds cards (Blackwell, Klu, Vandermeer, etc.) in the set whose caps originally
were Red.
