It is from the 1910 Orange Border set. Each card was part of the candy box and was meant to be cut out and collected as a card. Each box likely contained one single player card and one team card, the two cards being the two largest panels on the box. The team card would either be the Tigers or Pirates since they were the two teams who played in the World Series in 1909. Of course the two cards a box is still speculation since a box has yet to turn up but would answer why there are so many of the two team cards compared to the single player cards. |
