While I will never sell my childhood 71 and 72 Topps sets, the prized card is my collection is my m101-5 Thorpe. I also have a bunch of letters from Negro League players will never go anywhere. My favorite of these is the letter I got from Mahlon Duckett. |

For me it's my growing 1933 Goudey set. It's not in high grade or anything, but I love the artwork and eye appeal of this issue. Only 76 aways, although 3 of them are still Babe Ruth! |

My dad gave me both of these when I was a kid. Years after selling off most of my collection, these were the two I really regretted. I was thrilled to be able to pick up both of these in the last few years. |

My favorite baseball posession is my granfather's bat that he used playing semi-pro ball in Vermillion MN, in the 20's. It is a Rogers Hornsby signature model. It's cracked, been taped, and not in the greatest shape but it was the one thing he gave me before he died when we were cleaning out his garage. |

Please disregard my previous post, on further reflection, my most prized baseball related posession is this 1948 Zenith Radio that set on night stand by my grandfathers bed. The radio he used to listen to every Houston Buff, Colt 45 & Astros game until he died in 1974. |

Without a doubt it would be the letter written on Hollywood Stars stationary dated November 5, 1955 from Bobby Bragan to Dale Long talking about how he was looking forward to coaching the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1956. Dale Long gave this to me and added his own note about how the letter was a response to one he had sent Bragan. The content is so interesting !! |

I won't bore everyone with my top two picks which are both cards my mother and father gave me and I've posted those a million times I'll go with my third most prized item....A Stall & Dean James Delahanty model bat because as far as I know it's the only one known. My brother found all of these bats at a garage sale for $20. |

I don't collect much memorabilia, but my favorite item in my collection is a story I have that was handwritten by Casey Stengel, about the first time he faced Walter Johnson. It's written in pencil, and has tons of crossouts and stuff, but epitomizes a lot of what baseball is about to me: history, humor, competition, storytelling. |

to it is my 1984 (I know, not vintage) Louisville Stoneware Pete Browning statue. Only one I'd ever seen until I won another one from SANDIEGOWILL on ebay a few months ago. Now I have TWO! Not noted as Browning specifically but for the 100th anniversary of Slugger and the first slugger was made for browning. About 15" tall. |

The Mathewson will always have a special place in my collection and will never go anywhere, too many memories behind it. The Voskamps I just really enjoy. The history and obscurity of the issue fascinates me. The images are found on no other sets and the oriental style writing on the back is a plus. |

...so far Cobb items ahead of Matty items on this thread. (They each got one point for the quilt/blanket/silk framed thing.) But I didn't see any other repeats. I found that interesting because my Matty cards and Cobb cards are among my all-time favorites. |

I posted the photo of Lincoln and Tad under "baseball related: favorites", and it's still there. Yesterday, I posted that a very close second, of all baseball things, was Davied Rudd's (drc) Maine lifer ring bat. David wote a little partagraph about it, but I'm sorry to say, did not post a picture after I posted. |
