Outrageous shipping- what's a guy to do?

I agree that $8 is high for shipping. However, what I cant understand is why we complain so much about these shipping issues and not the shipping costs charged by many of the auction houses. I just recently won one of the mastro lots (with a few partners) and the shipping was over $60 for a lot that was under 15k. That seems extremely high to me - Ive received shipments from SGC with at least that many cards and close in value for around $20-30.
