There likely were scratches on the printing plate, but as there were 4 different printings, it appears that some were printed before the scratch. Similarly, there was a large, almost thumb-print like blotch smack in the middle of the Dazzy Vance card, although I'm happy to say that I landed the PSA 9 Vance tonight that somehow lacks that blotch--the first in the 35-40 Vance's I've seen that was "clean". |
