If you look at the question, it does not ask which player is most deserving. It asks which player would you add if you could add a player to the class of 1936.

No matter if you like him and his history or not, Joe Jackson has many fans and many people would like to see him in the HOF. That doesn't mean these people think he was a better player than Hornsby, LaJoie, or Anson. It simply means that Joe has more current fans than many of the other players listed.
