With you on the '57 Topps, Jack. I was seven when they came out. They are the first cards I actively collected and it was the first set I pursued when I got bit by the vintage cards bug. They still stand out as one of the classic Topps sets. There are several super post-WW2 sets but for me the '57 Topps set works like no other for tapping into the long-lost state-of-grace of a seven year old baseball fan when I need a break from being a hard-bitten, cynical bastard. |
