I sometimes lurk but quite frankly cant read for too long without giving myself a headache. Most posters over there have no idea what they are talking about. The sgc post is a good example - it may be technically correct with modern cards. Vintage, I'd say sgc and psa are fairly close with most issues. I cross most my cards to sgc - the holders are far superior to psa IMO. Am I committing investment suicide? No - if I ever feel like my return will be that much greater if I need to sell a card, I will spend the $10 and cross it back - fortunately, I dont feel like that is necessary. The PSAers also conveniently ignore the fact that modern cards in BGS slabs routinely outsell their psa slabbed counterparts. I think there was actually a post over there once arguing that a 52 topps mantle was a better investment than a T206 wagner. Ah, ok. |
