I would guess many people here started out collecting cards that were being currently issued and then eventually migrated back in time as their sophistication and financial wherewithal increased. As silly as the Clemente card is, it at least has the potential to interest today's young collectors buying Ichiro and Jeter cards in players of a bygone era, and who knows where that might lead in turn. Leon I think you did the right thing in not having a knee jerk reaction. As I posted in another thread, the one turn off I have in card collecting is people who think they are superior. |
