Yes, according to the winning bidder who was there live that is exactly what happened. Since Barry Sloate had a bid of $2400 (absentee bid also), the lot opened up at $2500. The live bidder then bid $2600 and won it. My point is that since I had already entered the $2600 bid and Hunt's claims to show no preference between absentee and live bids, the auctioneer should have recognized my bid and the winning bidder should have had to bid $2700 to win. It's all spilt milk now and maybe David would have gone ahead and bid the $2700 and I would not have won anyway but I am through with Hunt's. |
