I have always been told I look like Will Wheaton. If not for Stand By Me, I would be wearing a bag over my head. Good thing my son looks more like my wife! |

The slightly overweight head coach looking guy top row far left. My son is fourth from the left on the first row. My good friend, assistant coach, and fellow card collector is "Big" Bob Lawson - back row far right. He played in the Royals organization in the late 60's and early 70's. Actually Bob don't collect much anymore he just comes over to look at my stuff. He says it's cheaper that way. |

Fortunately it has no effect on my card-collecting. I won't post my image, as I prefer to sneak up on people at the National. Hope to see all of you there...assuming I make it. |

Good day on the corner? :-p Then again, those would need to be 10s and 20s, not 100s. |

Here's a picture from last summer. This was near the NW end of Vancouver Island, on Malcom Island at a high end fishing resort. Funny thing is that I don't really like fishing. This king salmon weighed in at 20 lbs. I'm actually trying a new preparation, smoking. I've taken half this fish, brined it overnight, and will smoke it (cold) for about 6 hours tomorrow. Hope it's good. |

Jay: Yes, indeed that was a good day on the corner for me...a good day in the dusty corner of Borders Literature section selling signed copies of my book that is. It's funny, because I think I'm the last person in the world that anyone would think collected vintage cards. Ha! You should see some of the reactions I get from dealers when buying or selling. |

That salmon should be good. If I add the weekend nights and meals in hotels in Seattle before and after, the float plane from Lake Union to and from the resort, and the resort fees, it works out to about $200 per pound of fish in my freezer. (I had two this size, 20 lbs fresh = 12 lbs frozen). |
