Garyy, you need to take a look at O'Doul's entire career, majors and minors. Back in O'Doul'd day, the PCL was almost as good as the Majors. Many players that grew up out West, like O'Doul, prefered to play closer to home and actually got paid as much or more to play in the PCL then they did for a major league team. He also has the work he put in over in Japan to make baseball what it is today over there.
