It is the earliest minor league card set and the earliest photographic card set. The set, as it is known, consists of three players from the 1886 Syracuse Stars. The players, all of whose cards are unique, are Buckley and Tomney(who were later pictured in the Old Judge set) and Crothers, a pitcher who never made it to the majors. |
