Default What Was Your Number One Pickup For 2007?

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm

Hard to say, but one really cool thing I found is as follows:

Maris, Roger (1934-1985). Indians, Athletics, Yankees, Cardinals. Here is a true gem! This vintage Reach OAL Joe Cronin baseball has been signed by Maris (7/10) on a side panel. What makes this ball unique is that the ball was also signed on an opposite panel by Tracy Stallard (8/10), who served up Maris' historic 61st home run in 1961. As if that isn't enough, the panel signed by Maris is also graced by the signature of Sal Durante (rating 5/10), who was the lucky young man who caught Maris' 61st HR ball! This item was signed back in that record-setting year. The idea of “theme” balls such as these was barely in existence back in the early 1960's. There are a few Maris/Stallard signed photos floating around, but I know of NO OTHER dual-signed baseball! This was given as a prize at the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle and was obtained from its original owner. A full JSA LOA is provided with this piece. The ball itself would grade about 7/10. Historic!

And yes, it's for sale.
