Is there any one collector who has what is considered the finest baseball pennant collection in the hobby? They don't get much press, but there must be an exceptional collection out there. |

Hi Mike, I love large pennants and have about a dozen fairly old ones. But pennants are made to display and the wall space required to do that is their disadvantage. I do have probably one of the largest collections around of the small 1936-37 BF3 pennants, currently about 425 different ones. These I display in glass enclosed cases. I will try to post some pictures during the coming week. |

Thank you Jim. I would love to see the large pennants, but the smalls are great as well. Anyone else have pre-war pennants to post? |

No White Sox prior to 1920, but I do have an amazing 1919 Reds Champions Pennant (kind of White Sox-Related, if you know what I mean!) I do have a very unusual White Sox Pennant from the late 20s or early 30s, and think I have most Chisox variations from the 1940s - on... |

Thanks Greg... I should have read more carefully. I do actually have a killer oversized Red Sox Pennant from the teens. Different than all of those pictured in the previous thread, too. |

Mark, what I do to put photos on here is to upload my photos onto my album at www.photobucket.com, then I copy and paste the html address of the photo directly into the message. |

My first attempt at posting a picture... Here's probably my finest Red Sox Pennant. Huge oversized version from the teens (NRMT!!) Really vibrant colors when you see it live... sorry for the lousy pic! |

My best recent pick-up... a 1913 World Series Pennant. The artwork on this one is almost hypnotizing, with Ben Franklin and the Giant in a friendly confrontation. Probably made for Giants fans, as their mascot seems to be the primary focus. Too bad that Philly got the better of them in this one! |

Here is one of my all-time favorites. Can you imagine any player today being so popular that they name the entire team after him? Does anyone out there think the "Mannys" can overcome their deficit to beat the "Naps" this weekend? Who will ultimately face the "Hollidays" in this year's World Series? |

Awesomes pennants Mark. The oversized RedSox pennants is stunning. Here are a few from my collection and they are extremely meager compared to yours. They are from my Eagles collection. |

Shawn, The prize pennants were a premium offered by Ferguson Bakery, I do not believe they are listed in the ACC, but can be found in the Standard Catalog. |

Hey Rob... That is amazing with the 2 Satchel Paige's. All your pieces are just beautiful. Please email me at imstroft@yahoo.com, just in case you are toying with the idea of selling/trading one of the Paige Pennants. |

Dan: I was just a kid in the late '60s when the pennant bug bit me. My Dad would typically buy me a Pennant for $1.00 each time we went to a Reds game at Crosley Field. |

Mark, I thought that Boston pennant of yours looked familiar. It's actually pictured in a small BoSox memorabilia book Called Boston Red Sox Memories and Memorabilia of New England's Team by Chadwick and Spindel. It's a cute little book, but not one that goes into a lot of depth. In fact, they incorrectly label that pennant of yours from the 40s which it is obviously wrong. They also show the common red WS Champions pennant and the white 1915 Red Sox pennant as well as another 1912 "Red Sox American League Champions" pennant similar to mine, but with a batter, not a pitcher. |

I hate to bring down the quality of this post because those are some amazing pieces but these have been in the garage forever and I'm wondering about the approximate year of issue. I don't have a clue about them. Also, are they pretty common ones? They are all full size. Thanks, |
