Nicholson is Bill "Swish" Nicholson, nicknamed "Swish" because of his penchant for strikeouts (even though he never struck out more than 100 times). Despite being among the league leaders in strikeouts for many years, he was actually a very good hitter for the Cubs in the 1940's. |
