Default Pete Rose Can Rot

Posted By: J Levine

All,
I love threads like this but some people are totally missing the point. Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and even Eddie Cicotte are already in the Hall of Fame. They are!! I swear!! I have been there and have seen them. Someone made a great point that the Hall is a place for the rich history of the game. True enough. I held Rose's bat when I was in Cooperstown, I looked at Joe's shoes, and I saw a uniform cap worn by Cicotte. They are mentioned everywhere in the Hall of Fame and their memorabilia and careers are there. There is no large blank mark on the wall where it lists the All-Time Hit Leaders...it clearly says his name. All Rose wants is to have his day in the sun. I hope it never happens. He broke the rules, lied, and hurt the game. I was a fan of Rose as a kid and it even hurts me today to have to pay for his cards for my Phillies collection but not because he gambled. It is because he was a hero and lied. Those two things really don't go together with someone like me. Sorry, keep Rose out at least until I am dead and gone.

My two cents...
Joshua
