As a member of SABR, I can vouch for Jay’s comments that the Deadball Stars is an excellent publication. Plenty of information is available on the superstar players like Matty and Honus. What makes this book special is that it has the biographies of the more obscure star players (e.g. Patsy Donovan, Slim Sallee, Jake Daubert, Bill Doak …) in this era. I think this group would enjoy and well worth the price of $25. |
