The big three: Mathewson, Johnson, Young

I guess my question can be rephrased as:

1. who's cards are the most popular among collectors?

2. Is one more popular than the others because they are more highly regarded as a pitcher, or because they had more appearances in vintage sets of that era? Are there any other reasons why one might be favored over the others?
