I have seen T205s without the gilding (gold was not used and on nearly all T205s, the originally gold-colored metal dust has tarnished). On all of these, the borders were yellow. This yellow was either because the borders were printed yellow to hide any potential chips or 'holes' in the application of the metal dust. Or the size (glue) that was applied during gilding was yelllow or turned yellow. |
