Default November 2025 pickup thread

This arrived today. I've been on a Nolan Ryan kick lately. Getting closer to completing a run of his 1968-1994 Topps base cards.

Nice! I completed the base run a few years ago. Still need to get cards like my 1969 and ‘71 base graded, but I can’t get motivated to put them in the mail.

Saturday show pickups from Mebane, NC. Though there was entirely too much Pokémon and shiny crap, I was glad to be able to bring these guys home. The Uecker I was particularly pleased to add back; I had one in lower grade than this a few years ago, but sold it and almost immediately regretted it. Pete Rose will always be the king of the floating heads, but I would submit that Uecker is a not so distant second.

I know some people hate the floating heads, but they’ve never bothered me. They are very period specific, IMO. As for the rest - nice progress with some guys I needed for my '63 set.

A few Pittsburgh exhibits freshly graded. The 2.5 on the Aaron was a head scratcher.

They were super tough on these too, but I did get them to slab the full set of 1954s, all of which are the first they've graded. The 1953-55s are ad backs.

Default 48 Musial

Nice cards everyone, big fan of the 70 Ryan, and your copy as well. Been saving up this year for a big buy and this is what I got. Love everything about this card. Despite some things happening in the card "industry" that I don't like, this is why I hobby.

Great card of Stan the Man!

My $3.50 eBay pickup is certainly not on the level of the Musial card. Still, I never had a Garry Maddox rookie before. So, this fills a hole in my collection.

I guess this one lands somewhere between Stan Musial and Garry Maddox.

I won this at Rabbit Hole Auctions. It arrived cracked, so I reached out to them and they paid for me to have it reslabbed. I only had to pay shipping there and back, which was only about $30. But it came back yesterday, while I was out of town. So just opened it this morning. Looks really sharp for a 1. If not for that pin hole/paper issue between his hat and the edge, it probably would've graded a lot higher.
