Want to make note and trying not to make this a shill post.

My buddy’s photo is the cover. He bought it back in 2010 (before even Type 1 was a thing). At the time he did not collect photos he has a few now mostly non-sport, but just loved the image and story. He does not sell anything let alone auction anything, just has some various memorabilia he bought that sit in his office or a box when he moved.

The photo is a a great story and image with DiMaggio. It is one if not last playing day image of Gehrig before he was diagnosed. It even mentions on back he was not playing while thinking about him going to Mayo Clinic the next week.

I reached out to Andrew after he sent to me to take a look at it. He took the time to review and we decided to send to PSA. We were excited to get the news, but the biggest surprise Andrew let us know his one item made the cover.

He is super excited and happy with the care the LOG team assisted him with.

Agreed, VERY impressive auction. The pre 1900 stuff is off the chart. Congrats Al.

Can one of you post a link? I went to LOTG's website and found only a five-card preview of the upcoming auction. The rest of the site shows only the August auction. Thanks.

Wow! My wife walked in while I was looking at the auction catalog online, saw me drooling, and said, "Are you looking at porn?”

Seriously though, amazing stuff!

For people that couldn't find the link, I found it in the "Promotions" folder in my gmail account.

It’s a pretty nuts selection. All of the sudden E222s are coming out of the woodwork after, what, like 6-7 years without a single one sold at auction?

I think a lot of the big collectors from the past 30 years are starting to sell off their collections. Dont want to leave it behind for the family to deal with it and get ripped off. So starting to see a lot of rare items coming to the market...

Not that I am going to be buying but would love to see some of the 1910 Washington Times cards come to market...think this to me is one of the rarest sets. Only 3 sales on VCP in 20 years

Bobby, it's very unlikely that you will some of these 1910 Washington Times cards or the similar-looking 1914 Baltimore News cards come to market anytime soon because there is an esteemed Net54 board member who hoards them. He's been colleting them since he was a baby, and he's still too young to feel the need to dispose of them.

So it is not Dan? He is not too young and an old bastard...LOL I hope he still has a sense of humor after getting a new shoulder.

I consider Dan a young whipper snapper compared to me (I turn 82 later this month)!

He did, however, sell a couple of the Baltimore News cards in his time. I guess he got offers he couldn't refuse...ouch.
