Default Schlitz Beer Case Collection: 2000+ 1950s Topps & Bowman Cards Discovered

Hi Guys! Just wanted to share this recent collection I purchased- over 2000 1950s Topps and Bowman cards, all stored in a Schlitz beer case! This original owner collection featured partial sets from 1952-1958, including a high grade 1956 Topps complete set and near complete sets of '55,'57, and '58 Topps. The 58 Topps set had lots of duplication, including Mantle x3, Aaron x4, Koufax x4, and Maris x2.

Also presented were 8 rare 1953 Glendale Meat Detroit Tiger cards.

Read the entire story behind this collection at my blog:

The find was also featured on Sports Collectors Daily: https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...-perse-passes/

Oh wow!

Should we understand that Robert didn't keep his cards in the toploaders we see but they were loose in the Schlitz beer case? Did he just keep the cards from each separate set sorted in piles and wrapped with a rubber band?

Cool find and neat story. I like hearing the history on these original owner collections. Just curious on what Glendale meat cards were in the collection

Nice find - appears to be some high-grade 58 cards.
Of course I gotta ask if you found a date on the Schlitz box ?
You may or may not find a date but Schlitz was pretty good about putting dates on their stuff

Did you happen to find a glove at the bottom of the case?
