Correct David, I agree. If they are original the photos most likely had the white boarder, than later trimmed. Which is not uncommon.

Looking forward to see how this plays out! Would be exciting if they end up being real.
The back age wear is what looks so good to me. And the fact the entire collection is together and it's not just Babe, I think is a great sign of legitimacy.

One thing I've noticed about the borders of photos is generally a glossy finished photo has a border, while double weight generally have no border, I know this isn't always true by any means, but I think these weren't trimmed and are in original shape. I've especially noticed this in snapshots that predate 1925ish. The further back you go, the less snapshots have a border. By 1919 I am sure at the photo finishers you would've had a choice between the two or of getting both.

Though I would go with your opinion over almost anybody else Gary.

Too hard for me to tell from the pictures posted. They could be real but also look a little fuzzy. That could just be the scan though...
