Default 1964 Penafiel

I grabbed this card a year or so ago and noticed a card on a current large auction house that has an extremely high estimate for a PSA 1 for it. Are these that rare that people are paying big money? The eBay museum has some crazy numbers too.

Am I missing something?

Guessing this auction could be an indicator.

Thanks, I should have done that too!

Penafiels are very, very tough to find but a handful hit eBay several years ago. I am guessing that your and my Gehrigs were from that offering. Since then, they've been recycled endlessly by eBay greedheads who think they're worth as much as a rookie card. It's another rare issue that has started to move from obscurity to something better but there is still a lack of recognition. A legit four-figure card in lower grades if properly worked into a good auction, I'd say.

Not eBay, but see your point.

The auction ended of a Koufax on Heritage and it went to over $20k with BP in Heritage. Twice the estimate!
