Default Curiosity baseball question

There is much made over the "immaculate" inning (9 strikes - 3 outs) but does anyone know if there ever has been a 3 pitch - 3 out inning? Just curious.

According to Baseball Almanac there have been 206 3-pitch innings in MLB History. The last one was this year. Tanner Scott for the Dodgers on 4/5/25 in the 9th.

Geoff,

Thanks, I guess this isn't as unusual as I thought it might be. I appreciate the quick response.

The minor leagues had the first ever two-pitch inning in 2018, thanks to the zombie runner rules:

Wow! Thanks Bobby. A 2 pitch inning. From the read I gather it he also did it in the Gulf Coast League. I appreciate you posting this.

Also. 8 times in MLB history a relief pitcher has come in with one out and completed the inning in one pitch.

Of course, there has been only one time a pitcher had achieved multiple immaculate innings in the same game...

Anyone remember?

Hint #1- he was a Met

If we can guess, it'd be Ryan or Seaver for the Mets immaculate innings.

NOPE.

Hint #2) It 'happened' in April, 1985...

I'll guess Ed Lynch, because he didn't walk or strike out many guys.

From the Google search results I found, no pitcher has ever had two in the same game. In 2022, the Astros had 2 different pitchers throw immaculate innings in the same game. Are you sure about your answer?
