Is it time to short Ohtani?

Ok, so I'm probably going to look stupid in a week or two. But here it goes. I think Ohtani is done. He just published a children's book starring his pet dog. In the middle of the season. Yes, it was co-authored, which means that some other dude wrote the book, but still. Yes, the gamblers still have Ohtani as the favorite to win the NL MVP. But I think he's toast. He's going to suck for the rest of the year.

Yes, couldn't agree more. Ohtani sucks at baseball now and his career is over because of a childrens book and Soto is trash because of the first few weeks of a 15 year contract. The hottest take is surely reasonable and sensible.

The book was probably written in the offseason and timed to be published during the season when the publicity of him playing would be highest.
