Check this out also: 1992 article from the LA Times -- Ball for Ruth’s 60th Home Run Won’t Take to Heir Anymore and then this Chicago Tribune article from 2021 mentions that the son, George Siegel, will be auctioning off the ball in San Fancisco, but the article is behind a paywall so I can't read it. Looks like the Chicago Tribune article is similar to the LA Times one, each of them re-posting an AP article. The dates are confusing, though -- 1992 vs. 2021. I don't have the time to dig into this further, but it does look like there might be some contradiction behind who actually has the 60th HR ball. The HOF claims that their ball was snagged by Joe Forner at the game, not a young Herb Siegel. Anyone have the scoop? Last edited by CW; Yesterday at 10:45 PM.
