Default Looking For Opinions On Babe Ruth Signatures

Do most collectors prefer Babe Ruth Signatures on items like cards, photos, etc., than on a blank index card?

What is your preference? Thanks!

I’d take a signed ‘33 Goudey all day.

I love a clean index card but other items can be great, too. A gorgeous 3x5 can be displayed with whichever of the million Ruth images you happen to like best, making for a great display if done professionally.

Depending on what the item is that's signed it can get very pricey such as ball's, type 1 photo's etc.

That being said signed index cards have never thrilled me, but they are the most affordable.

I am grateful to own 2 signed Ruth items. A nice signed ball and a cancelled check. I focus more on the quality of Babe's signature rather than the item its on.

My two cents!

That's exactly how I feel also, which makes me hesitate. But the signatures are a 10, which is a positive.

Thanks!

I picked mine up from heritage about 3 years ago and posted it here I think as a show off thread.

While a genuine Ruth signature on pretty much anything would be the crown jewel of most if not all collections, mine included, I had to fit my purchase within a budget.

As much as I wanted a clean(ish) single signed Ruth ball, it just wasn't anywhere near where I could afford at the time, and still isnt.

That being said, I prefer my cuts to be in PSA/DNA holders that are standard card size. Maybe it's an OCD thing of mine but that was a requirement when searching.

This is the one I ended up with and hope to pass along to my children one day.. or they can sell it when I'm dead but then they can expect me to haunt them jk

sorry that its a tad large

I've always been partial to the business card-sized Ruths that were signed in deep purple. Show stoppers. They pop up on occasion. It would have been nice if they were 3X5 in size, but can hardly complain when you see one.
